Art Maps

I first began drawing imaginary maps in the seventh grade, during a geography assignment at school. While most students completed the task in a day or two, I became completely absorbed, spending weeks on a single map. It quietly marked the beginning of what would become a lifelong fascination.

Even now, map-making remains a kind of personal escape — a way to build and inhabit worlds of my own design. These drawings have become the closest thing I know to art therapy.

One day, I hope to publish a collection of them. Ideally, the sort of book you can keep by the toilet and get lost in for a few minutes at a time.
